Why am I doing this?

Now? I don’t know.

“Every year since 2007, I have spend my February recording at least 30 mins and 10 songs worth of music. None of it is particularly good, but since you are old friends and made music with me at some point, I thought you might enjoy hearing what I made this month.”

At least that was what I used to say. I’ve also always said I’d do this for ten years. As of writing this, it’s year seven, February 7th. I have seven songs. It’s time for some reflection.

In this seventh year, I’m just going to put this up on soundcloud for anyone to listen to. I’ve tried to cover any genre I could. I’ve tried to play many instruments I couldn’t. I’m strained to hit many notes that were above me. I’ve found topics for songs that would have thought were below me. This is what happens when you try to write at least ten songs and 30 minutes of original music every year.

Thank you to rpmchallenge.com for the original idea. I’ve long abandoned the forum, but the site existed to foster this.

Also thank you to Cisco Cutter for pushing me into this in 2007. I needed something to take my mind off of where I was at the time. Thank you.
